Unnatti’s mission is to work towards retraining and rewiring the brain in the
art of verbalizing emotions. The failure to verbalize can lead to a pile of emotions
impacting every aspect of life and relationships with self and others!
Verbalizing emotions helps with self-soothing, self-reflection, and self-esteem.
It also works like a charm for building interpersonal relationships.
The bond between
mother and son
Dr. Jain and her son spend time together every week,
laughing and secret sharing are included.
On Sundays, they tackle the kitchen together
to make meals they can share.
As a working adult, Tarang still comes to Dr. Jain for advice and wisdom, and she happily follows all of his social media.
As a Youth Behavior Change Expert, Dr. Jain spent many years working with diverse individuals -
and when she received her certification from the Certified Coaching Alliance, she was coached on 52 Key Concepts that
she had adapted to suit her work.
She has shared this list with many clients and audiences over the years, and it occurred to her
that she had never shared her rationale for sharing this list with them, nor why she continues to use it in her coaching.
The obvious answer is that consolidating these concepts helps her as an expert and provides
an easy reference point for when she needs to refocus on the current topic or narrow down what she’s working with.
Let’s be real - we all have a helpful little tool that we tend to reach for at work when we’re stuck!
However, the real reason she developed an appreciation for this list runs much deeper.
It began with one client a few years ago.
She was in session with a lovely woman who struggled to describe what she wanted to work on.
The client joked “You know, my therapist has a ‘feelings wheel’ that helps me. I wish you had one like it."
To her surprise, Dr. Jain immediately pulled her list of concepts. It was exactly what she was looking for.
The two of them spent a few minutes looking it over before getting to work identifying and
choosing concepts that resonated with her. By the end of the session, they had a clearly defined
set of topics to work on, and the client had the language she needed to describe and communicate
what she wanted out of their sessions.
What she experienced that day continues to occur with her clients in sessions today!
And thus, the Golden 52 Key Concepts remain a pillar of her work.
