Is Parenting and Teaching a thankless Job? I NEED YOUR HELP!!

As the Mother of an adult child, I thought my PTA days were behind me. After doing a handful of speaking events at schools, I’m realizing that they shouldn’t be.

I need your help!! If you are in a PTA (Parent Teacher Association), lead a PTA, or are in anyway connected to a PTA, and would like to be a change agent with me, I request you to help me to connect with them.

Discussions about Parent-Teacher alliances have always been present in my work - they’ve come up in 1:1 coaching sessions, and in parent/teen work, and I’ve spoken to PTA members at speaking gigs. But their power has alluded me, until now.

The more schools I speak with - whether it be parents, students, or faculty, the more I realize the power of great, meaningful change if the parents get a safe space to air their issues and come together to learn from each other specifically on managing teenage issues and raising strong leaders. Teenage is hard and every parent is struggling, how about we all come together and create solutions that can impact and save every parent the trouble of going through it alone.

Seeing parents struggle has inspired me to offer group coaching services - specifically for PTAs (that's where you will find all parents struggling with similar issues), with the goal of providing guidance, skill development, and tools for PTAs to be able to approach the school boards and districts at large, with ideas, goals, and structural changes they would like to see in their school system. Not only that parents will go home with change strategies which will not only support them in their own journey but help them get closer to their teenagers while raising them.

This coaching space will also teach parents and teachers how to collaborate more effectively - with teachers being able to appreciate the issues that parents see, and parents appreciating the same from teachers while respecting their individual abilities to create change and how their next steps may differ. PTAs create connections by nature - my coaching work is designed to help enhance that connection and make it something unshakeable, for the benefit of the teachers, parents, and eventually the students.

Parents and teachers don’t join PTAs if they aren’t motivated, or if they lack care for their role - so if you’re a part of a PTA you’ve already shown up for your community in one way. I’d like to invite you to take it one step further, and consider group coaching work, or even simply a speaking engagement, to take the association to the next level. Be the change you wish to see - in your PTA, for your kids, for the district at large.

If you’re a part of a PTA, reach out and schedule a free conversation with me. I want to help your PTA become what it deserves to be.

Much Love,
