I have mentioned on LinkedIn before, that I practice yoga every single day. I intentionally step onto the mat and create time for myself every day, and I have been dedicated to it for years.
I do yoga for so many reasons - health, a love for the practice, routine… but one of the reasons I do it is because I am reminded of something I was told by a friend years ago: Live fast, breathe slow.
I remember this because I am a fast-paced person:
My mind always runs faster than my mouth.
I constantly have too many balls in the air.
If it were up to me, I’d have more hours in my day!
I had always been told to slow down, and had never been told that it was a good thing to live fast - it was always something that I needed to be wary of. Being told to “live fast” caught my attention.
The power is in breathing slow.
You can move fast.
Do big things.
Do MANY things.
But you must make sure you’re taking the time to stop and notice the world around you.
To take in the beauty of what you’re doing.
To feel the warmth of your family and friends around you.
To enjoy accomplishing things.
Noticing your own strength.
Live fast, breathe slow.
