Teaching an Old Dog, New Tricks

I’ve heard the phrase “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” 1000s of times throughout my life. And I have to say, I disagree.

I’m in my 50s now. I’ve changed in the last few years - and I’m proud of the growth that’s occurred.

I changed careers in my 20s, 30s, and 40s.

I went back to school in my 30s and 40s.

I found my true passions in my 50s.

The older I’ve grown, the more sure of myself I have become - and I have learned many new tricks along the way.

It baffles me when I hear people say that they’re “too old” to try something new, or they say “it’s too late” to change.

You are never too old. It is never too late. All it takes is making that decision to jump in and tackle that growth head-on.

Tell me in the comments below - as an “old dog” what new tricks have you learned?
